NC73 Corridor Visioning & Development Plan
NC73 Corridor Visioning & Development Plan
Davidson/Cabarrus, NC
Mr. Gross participated in a visioning and development plan led by Design Collective, Inc. (DCI) for the NC73 Corridor through the Lake Norman area north of Charlotte, including Davison, Huntersville, and Cabarrus County. This area, particularly around the small college town of Davidson, has a strong sense of place and retains a rural character, but is increasingly attractive to developers as a location for suburban residential and commercial use. For the NC73 plan, the DCI team conducted a charrette planning process focused on traditional neighborhood design concepts. The community wanted to ensure orderly growth that included employment nodes that would balance the area’s development and fiscal base. Mr. Gross designed a strategy that identified key market opportunities for technology and other business development consistent with the community’s desire to retain its strong quality of life.[1]
