Randall Gross worked as part of a planning team led by The Walker Collaborative, Inc. on a Management Plan for a new National Heritage Area in northern Mississippi, designated by the U.S. National Park Service. Mr. Gross assessed the cultural and environmental heritage base and forecasting the potential for tourism development in this relatively impoverished area as a driver for economic development. He also provided input on the financial planning and strategic marketing of the area, on behalf of the National Park Service and the Mississippi Hills National Heritage Area Alliance. Oxford, Mississippi is home to the University of Mississippi, which gave prominence to such American literary figures like William Faulkner. In follow-up work, Mr. Gross recently assessed the opportunities and prioritization for trails and routes through the area on behalf of the MHNHA.
