Maputo Development Corridor Conceptualisation
Maputo Development Corridor Conceptualisation
South Africa-Mozambique
In 1995, Randall Gross worked with the Development Bank of Southern Africa (DBSA) on conceptualisation of development corridors and specifically the Maputo Corridor, the country’s first economic development corridor. The corridor follows two major highways and rail lines linking Johannesburg through Ekurhuleni to Maputo in Mozambique. This project became a model for the country’s other efforts to create public-private partnerships for economic development concentrated in specific development corridors.
