Citywide Manufacturing Sector Strategy

Randall Gross and his South African firm ADEC worked for the Johannesburg Department of Economic Development (DED) on an analysis and marketing strategy for the manufacturing sector. As part of this work, Mr. Gross and ADEC analyzed sector trends and growth prospects, and identified core sub-sector competitive strengths for the city. ADEC also conducted a citywide survey of manufacturing businesses to provide input on key issues and opportunities for the city. Finally, Gross developed strategic recommendations for marketing, business recruitment, and efforts to improve overall competitiveness for growing the city’s manufacturing business base.
